Alupro set to shine spotlight on aluminium packaging at LARAC 2020

12 October, 20

Alupro, the aluminium packaging recycling organisation, is set to exhibit at this year’s LARAC Conference. Taking place virtually between 14-15 October, the live event will see more than 400 visitors from 170 authorities join together to attend expert presentations and practical workshops.

The Alupro team will be located in the virtual ballroom, showcasing its Every Can Counts and MetalMatters initiatives, alongside a number of new campaigns designed to raise widespread awareness and understanding about best practice aluminium recycling:

Masters of Infinity – As part of its commitment to educating the next generation about the circular properties of aluminium, Alupro has launched a brand-new primary education programme. Schoolchildren across the UK and Ireland are being invited to embark on a creative mission to defeat evil villain Land Phil, pledge their allegiance to recycling and become Masters of Infinity.

Student Starpack Awards – Continuing its efforts to encourage young people and their families to recycle, Alupro is also sponsoring this year’s Student Starpack Awards. The competition challenges university students to tackle creative packaging challenges set by some of the industry’s leading brands.

Resource library – So far in 2020, social media use has risen by more than 40%. This provides more opportunities than ever to help spread the recycling message far and wide. In response, Alupro has produced a resource library of seasonal content, ideal for sharing on all social media channels.

Rick Hindley, executive director at Alupro, commented: “We’re thrilled to be exhibiting at this year’s LARAC conference and look forward to meeting fellow exhibitors and visitors – albeit virtually!

“Our team will be available to discuss MetalMatters and Every Can Counts, as well as explain our latest education initiatives and our work with local councils nationwide. In particular, we’re looking to speak to council representatives about hosting the Every Can Counts rainbow arch installation, which was created from 2,000 beverage cans to tackle litter and raise awareness about the circularity of aluminium.”

Alongside exhibiting at this year’s conference, Alupro is also an event sponsor. Delegates must register their attendance at https://larac.org.uk/events/larac-conference-2020. For more information, or to find out more about Alupro, visit: https://alupro.org.uk.
