Leading global channel services provider, Agilitas IT Solutions, has recently joined forces with IT services specialist Highgate to support an initiative close to both companies’ hearts, as they strive to take their environmental pledges to the next level.

In an event arranged to coincide with Earth Day, Agilitas and Highgate came together at Broxtowe Country Park, Nottingham to take part in a litter pick that showcased their ongoing commitments to sustainability and the preservation of the planet in businesses. This included ensuring that waste and recycling was disposed of correctly and separated, and transporting what was collected back to Agilitas’ head office via an electric van.

With businesses and households producing 1.45 million tonnes of e-waste each year in the UK alone and un-recycled electricals costing the nation over £370m a year in lost materials, Agilitas is fully committed to supporting the Channel with solutions that Repair, Rework, Reuse to extend the life cycle of technology products and exceed targets for a more sustainable future.

“Partnerships don’t have to be confined to the office and with sustainability so high on the agenda for both Agilitas and Highgate, we thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to get together in the great outdoors while supporting an initiative that is so important to us both,” said Helen Boggs, Marketing and Communications Manager at Agilitas. “Our relationship with Highgate is growing from strength to strength and this is largely due to our shared values which we are keen to develop further with future joint initiatives.”

Jenny Latimer, Alliances and Marketing Manager and Sustainability Lead at Highgate added: “Collaborating with the Agilitas team on sustainability initiatives is great. By working together, we are able to raise more awareness and increase positive impact further than if we did it alone. It has strengthened business relationships and personal ones too, as well as impacting the planet in a positive way. We look forward to continuing it in the future.”

Agilitas is also committed to providing a sustainable and digitised supply chain to ensure devices are repaired in order to reduce single-use tech. This allows its channel partners and their customers to significantly reduce carbon footprints and work towards the nation’s crucial ambitions for net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
