Agilitas pledges to plant 100,000 trees in five years

Leading global channel services provider, Agilitas IT Solutions today announces it is working with world-leading carbon offsetting charity, Ecologi, to deliver on its pledge to plant 100,000 trees globally by 2026.

Agilitas has launched this green initiative by initially planting 600 trees a month to reduce carbon dioxide by approximately 11 tonnes every week. The planting is scheduled to accelerate over the coming months with a target of 1,500 trees a month by early 2022 in order to meet its five-year target and significantly reduce its carbon footprint.

The initiative is the latest development in Agilitas’ Sustainability Pledge and supports its vision to ‘Act with Impact’ and build a more sustainable and healthy future. The pledge forms an integral part of its mission to deliver a fully climate positive #Agiliteam by 2031 and to become 100% carbon neutral by 2040, 10 years ahead of the UK Government’s 2050 target.

Ecologi provides essential support by planting trees and funding the world’s best climate crisis solutions. It works with projects that are proven to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and partners with organisations such as the Eden Reforestation Projects to restore forests and the Gold Standard to maximise climate and development funding.

Its work with Ecologi will enable Agilitas to regularly track its contribution to environmental projects around the world, see the positive impact of its commitment and ensure the company is accountable for its sustainability objectives. Based on this expected rate of acceleration, Agilitas is on course to plant over 5,000 trees by the end of March 2022.

“As world leaders come together for vital climate change discussions at COP26, we are extremely proud to unveil the latest step on our own path to help create a greener future for the planet,” comments Deborah Johnson, Head of Sustainability at Agilitas. Our collaboration with Ecologi gives us the opportunity to support critical global initiatives and play an active role in climate positive projects as we embark on a journey to becoming carbon neutral.”
